Wink Bingo

Wink Bingo

Wink Bingo is celebrating once more as yet another big jackpot bingo winner is announced.  The extremely lucky player not only won the Fluffy Favourites jackpot , but won it in style as Wink Bingo have said the £50,824 is the biggest single jackpot winner at the busy bingo site.  The winner Joanna Abrahams was playing the instant game on autoplay one Saturday morning whilst she chatted to her daughter, totally unaware that during her conversation she had actually scooped the massive Wink Bingo jackpot win.  When she returned to continue play at her computer she was shocked to see the jackpot winning message stating that she had won the £50,000 jackpot.

Spoilt herself with a new mop with winnings!

Joanna who was playing at the time under her bingo chat alias of tonyjo1 was so surprised by her win that she needed to take a photograph of her PC screen to record it for ‘posterity’.  Joanna doesn’t exactly have big plans for her lucky Wink Bingo win at the moment, in fact she has only splashed out on a new laptop and a new mop (!) to date, wanting to spend the money wisely.  Although she did say to the Wink Bingo team that she did have plans to purchase “something a bit more exciting than a mop!”

Friendly roomies and big jackpots

Joanna has been playing at the Wink Bingo site for about 8 months, and because she has so many friends at the online bingo site that situation is not likely to change.  Joanna is quoted in the Wink Bingo press release as saying about her fellow chat roomies “I like to chat and I always have such a good laugh with everyone. They are all so friendly.”  If you would like to see how friendly the Wink Bingo players are and see if you can enjoy a bingo jackpot win just like Joanna then join today and take advantage of the £15 free welcome bonus.

Bingo Confidential

Bingo Confidential

The new movie Bingo Confidential could possible be screened here in the UK, well that is if all our lovely bingo fans get behind the cause and contact C4.  The American made comedy film, Bingo Confidential has already been screened in the US and has won two awards at the Long Island Film Festival 2009 in the process, but so far the writer, Director, Producer, editor and chief cook and bottle washer Susan Noel Benfatto has not been able to get the film screened in the UK.  Multi-talented Susan is calling on all British bingo fans to message Channel 4 to try to get them to agree to screen this exciting new comedy film here.

Bingo Confidential is a bit of a bingo scoop!

Knowing of course how much Bingo Scoop readers like a good giggle we thought it would be an ideal cause to get involved in, and we hope that you agree.  Please take a look at the Bingo Confidential dedicated website, there you will find amusing little tasters which will introduce the main characters and will also provide a short synopsis of the storyline.  Another place where you can get involved in the Bingo Confidential action is by joining the facebook group – surprisingly also called Bingo Confidential – and if you feel strongly enough about the film as we do, then follow the link to Channel 4 and get your voice heard too. There are stacks of online bingo sites getting involved in the action including, Bingo Hideout, No Bull Bingo, Online Bingo Bliss and Spa Bingo to name a few.

How about a UK follow up with  roles for Bingo Scoop readers?

To give Bingo Scoop readers an idea of what Bingo Confidential is all about, we give a brief outline of the story as follows; The film follows a group of bingo playing nuts who are all trying to win a $1m jackpot.  The jackpot was left for a special game in the will of an elderly lady who was a big bingo fan, sadly her greedy family are trying to get the cash and so have started proceedings to contest her will.  Who knows Bingo Confidential might have a sequel filmed in the UK, following the lives, loves and jackpot bingo winners at a traditional British Bingo hall.  Maybe we should message the clever Ms Benfatto with our idea – any Bingo Scoop volunteers who would like to star in the film?

Bingo players need sense of humour removed to play bingo?

Bingo madness

Bingo madness

Both online bingo and the more traditional bingo halls are NOT well known for accommodating those that are easily offended, shrinking violets or those who lack a good sense of humour.  Bingo players by nature are usually outgoing, fun types who like to play their beloved bingo game whilst sharing laughs and chats with friends and family.  Two recent stories however seem to paint a different picture of whom a typical bingo player might be, and highlights how some people really don’t have a clue about the bingo game or more importantly bingo players.

Well you can knock me down with a lady shaver!

The two stories concern people in authority who have decided in their ‘wisdom’ that the average bingo player is very easily offended – although this has to be said those making the assumptions clearly have little concept of the likes and dislikes of the average bingo player who is to be found in their natural habitat! The first story appeared in the Telegraph and concerns an elderly lady who when visiting her local bingo club in Swadlincote was caught by the club president before Christmas having a laugh with her friends about – of all things – bikini lines.  The president promptly complained to the committee who barred the 71 year old disabled woman from the club, ensuring that she missed spending her usual fun times with friends over the Christmas period.  The elderly lady, Patricia Brown has been visiting the Woodville Box Club for 25 years without incident.

88 – two rotund Sudbury Town Council officials

The second bingo story covered by the BBC et al and beggars belief revolves around the use of traditional bingo lingo in Sudbury.  The Sudbury Town Council officials have advised council run bingo halls to refrain from using language that might offend or cause someone to sue, so bingo calls such as ‘legs eleven’ and ‘two fat ladies’ are not to be used until further notice.
We assume that those making the above decision are single men from a different planet (Mars) who have not a clue how the human female mind or sense of humour operates. Anyone who has been around a large group of women (never mind bingo players) will know that none of the above is likely to offend – Take us to your leader Martians, as they need a sense of humour implant!

Christmas holiday’s great for a while, then you need online bingo

Christmas Cracker

Christmas Cracker

So Bingo players just under a week to go now till the big day, and if you have just broken up from work and have the annual office or factory shut down to look forward to then you will want some tips on how to spend the looooooong days to come.  Obviously making the most of the time available is the best way to pass the time, so you have a choice of maybe sorting out your home filing, reorganising your cupboards or (our particular preference) playing some online bingo!

Rearrange your drawers or play bingo …. hmmmmm!

Playing in an online bingo room is surely going to help relieve some of the boredom of watching the Christmas holiday TV repeats of Poirot.  Ok you are correct that playing online bingo won’t help make your home any tidier but it will give you an opportunity to chat with some online friends, have a little excitement with the online bingo or slot games and more importantly could possibly provide the opportunity to win some cash and if not at least the thrill of the possibility of winning.  Most online bingo rooms are open over the Christmas holidays so you needn’t be fed up or bored at all.  Pour yourself a glass of vino, grab a handful of Quality Street, let some gentle Christmas music play in the background then visit a site like Mecca Bingo or Gala Bingo …………. then enjoy!

Get the whole family to play online bingo too

Playing games is all part of Christmas so why not include the rest of the adult family members and ask them to enjoy a game or two of online bingo too.  For a twist to the usual bingo game at Christmas why not take it in turns to choose the bingo tickets then the first one to win a game wins a prize at home.  If the family members enjoy it and then want to open an account then you can always use the ‘refer a friend’ option.   This way you will also benefit from some free bingo yourself in return for the referral from the bingo site, as well as having someone you love and care for in the chat rooms next time you log in – bonus!

Big Bingo winner loses everything and wants benefits back

Bingo win

Bingo win

We all dream of winning big when we play bingo and how the money would change our lives, and always when we bingo players dream it is always a change for the better.  For one bingo winner however the advantage of winning a huge £50k bingo jackpot has not paid off, in fact the winner Cheryl McCann is now almost destitute with no income and without the likelihood of getting any either.  Ms McCann, a mother of three children was on benefits prior to her win and had borrowed £20 from her friend to play, immediately on winning the big bingo jackpot the bingo Ms McCann claims she shared the winnings with her friend, leaving her half of the jackpot cash.

The remainder of Ms McCann’s big bingo win was spent clearing debts, buying new furniture, purchasing a car and going on holidays with her children.  Unfortunately in the space of a year the bingo jackpot cash was all spent and Ms McCann applied to the benefits agency to have her allowances reinstated.  The plight of Ms McCann however has fallen on deaf ears at the benefits agency and they are refusing to pay her any money at all.  This has left the young mother with very few options to make ends meet, she has borrowed cash from her mother, sold the car and fallen behind with her rent just to feed the children.

Ms McCann now claims that because she is unable to receive any benefits she can no longer send her children to school as they sometimes do not have any lunch.  Added to all the dramas Ms McCann has now been threatened with eviction as she has been unable to pay her rent .  The sad story of the bingo winner who lost the lot and more has been told in many of the papers in the previous week, The Sun had many comments left from angry readers who felt that the woman deserved nothing from the taxpayer, others have been more charitable and stated that over such a long period of time the remainder of the winnings would have been spent on living expenses for the average person anyway.

Mecca Bingo says if your name’s Debbie then you are a winner

Mecca Bingo

Mecca Bingo

It’s really interesting to see the latest results of statistics supplied by online bingo giant Mecca Bingo, they have analysed all the data of winners and come up with some pretty remarkable results.  For a start Debbie counts as one of the most likely females to have a Mecca Bingo win, and for guys it is Steve who has the luck on his side.  Of course all players have as much chance as the next but remarkably 92% of Debbie’s have had a win playing online bingo and 83% of Steve’ were likely to have called house.

The luckiest locations in the UK all seem to be in the North of the country, with the luckiest town by far in the UK regarded at Harrogate, this is according to the results of the Mecca Bingo poll.  Closely following in the most lucky locations list is Falkirk and Berwick upon Tweed, the unluckiest location for bingo winning appears to be in Bath.  Generosity has little restriction in Scotland with the average Scottish bingo winner choosing to give a fair proportion of their winnings to charity, friends or family in the event of winning a £100,000 playing at Mecca Bingo.

Mecca Bingo representative Phil Gates said of the results of the Mecca Bingo survey”Are you born lucky, can you make your own luck or is fate the master of your destiny? Rather than luck being written in the stars our research of the thousands of winners on Meccabingo.com would suggest luck could be written in your postcode. There are no logical reasons for these luck anomalies but we would like to think that luck comes from being generous, if you think lucky, you’ll be lucky as a natural reward for a positive attitude and perseverance.”

Mecca Bingo gives bingo hall in Catford a pre-Christmas revamp

Mecca Bingo

Mecca Bingo

Mecca Bingo is one of the best places to play online bingo and is also known for providing a full package of entertainment at their Mecca Bingo halls too.  Mecca Bingo is always keen to keep their bingo halls looking great and providing the best of facilities to their loyal band of bingo players.  Therefore if one of their bingo halls starts to seem a little jaded then Mecca will pull out all the stops give the hall a new look, this is precisely what is about to happen to the Mecca Bingo Hall in Catford.

Mecca Bingo closed its doors last Friday for a week long major makeover and when it opens again on the 3rd December, and when the doors do eventually re-open players will most likely be totally captivated by the huge improvements that Mecca have made.  For a start there will be a new lively section for bingo players who prefer a more raucous approach to their bingo games, bingo games in this section will have an emphasis on fun with a capital ‘E’ so for boisterous bingo this will be the place to be.  Mecca Bingo of course still want to make the bingo hall equally inviting for the more sedate bingo player who takes the ‘if its not broke don’t fix it’ attitude and so have a section dedicated to the more traditional form of the bingo game.

The changes don’t only affect the cosmetic side of the Mecca Bingo experience; the bingo games themselves will have gone through some major changes too, there will of course be the usual traditional games but for those that are looking to bring some added excitement to their lives then the new Sing-a-long bingo and Bin-glo games are going to be a must.  The new improvements will also stretch to the catering as not only will there be food available but it will be delivered to bingo players by waiter or waitress service.  The fully licensed bar will ensure the party goes with a swing and there will also be a new range of special party packages for those looking for a venue with a difference.  Mecca Bingo will be celebrating all that is new and different about the bingo hall in Catford, by throwing a big bingo re-launch party, this will provide players with the opportunity to check out all the exciting changes themselves.

Bingo Scoop shocked to hear of new online bingo site closures

You Got Bingo Network

You Got Bingo Network

Bingo Scoop have been aware that there have been lots of new online bingo sites launched in the last few months, some like Bingon.com have been hailed as groundbreaking, other newbies like Churchill Bingo and Bulldog Bingo have been greeted with a pretty mild reception by the industry.  Bingo Scoop decided not to comment on the new sites that appeared to be mediocre deciding instead to focus on the online bingo sites that either offered something exciting, new and even some more established sites that wee better known.

Recent articles at Bingo Scoop have therefore focused on the likes of Bingon.com, Snap Bingo and the re-vamped Moon Bingo.  Imagine our surprise therefore that our decision not to put pen to paper to spout the benefits of playing Churchill Bingo and Bulldog Bingo were actually completely on target, as these sites as well as others in the You Got Bingo network have all closed – and with immediate effect. Players were sent an email stating that the sites were closing and that the network had been purchased by an unnamed buyer.  Clues to the possible identity of the mystery buyer could be found in the email which stated that Jackpot Joy is a recommended alternative online bingo site for You Got Bingo account holders to play at.

Some industry experts are stating that the You Got Bingo and the Interactive Playnet software provider had actually gone bust.  Whether there is any truth or not in these rumours is not known an email received by another bingo blog site, Bingo Hideout states that they were informed in response to a query to Interactive Playnet regarding the possible closure of the online bingo network that “Unfortunately this is the case and we will be closing down shortly although not specifically for the reasons stated” and further “We have a 3rd party who wishes to buy the company and their intentions are not to focus on the bingo side but on the casino side.”

Should Bingo Scoop readers wish to find an alternative bingo site to play at we recommend reading one of our recent articles for sites that are reputable or visiting established names like Foxy Bingo, Mecca Bingo or Gala Bingo to get a superior online bingo experience – and more importantly without the threat of imminent closure hanging over them!
